Its Not A Stampede But Some Canadian Academics Are Speaking Out About The UnScientific Lockdowns

Its good to see. We just need more of them . The Toronto Sun, one of the few brave , honest media left, have published a piece  by several academics highlighting just how bad these lockdowns here in Canada have been.

The academics are :

Claus Rinner, PhD, Geography and Environmental Studies, Ryerson University; Donald G. Welsh, PhD, Physiology and Pharmacology, Western University; Jan Vrbik, PhD, Mathematics and Statistics, Brock University; John Zwaagstra, PhD, Biotechnology, National Research Council; Laurent Leduc, PhD, Leadership, Higher and Adult Education, University of Toronto (retired); Valentina Capurri, PhD, Geography and Environmental Studies, Ryerson University

They say

‘What we know about COVID-19 has changed over the last 15 months. For example, did you know that asymptomatic transmission is no longer considered relevant for SARS-CoV-2 spread? Yet, why are the implications of the updated science on mask mandates and social distancing not being discussed?’

And then they state :

‘How could one-half of the United States go safely back to the old normal with no mask mandates, distancing rules, or vaccine requirements, while the province of Ontario maintains one of the tightest restrictions of civil liberties in the world? Why are dissenting doctors silenced by their professional organizations and the media, instead of being listened to and cross-examined?’

And then tellingly they explain:

‘In early 2020, asymptomatic transmission was suspected to pose a risk large enough to respond to the novel coronavirus with unprecedented lockdowns and mobility restrictions. Normally, any important government policy is subject to a cost-benefit analysis – why was this not done for the COVID-19 measures?’

Then this shocking information :

Independent Canadian researchers predict a devastating toll: one study estimates that 5-10 times more life is lost due to lockdowns (measured in years of life lost prematurely, i.e. Canadians dying earlier than they would without lockdowns), as compared to any lives that may have been saved, and another study pegs the costs at up to 282 times greater than the benefits.’

Why are not more academics and leaders as well as citizens taking this information more seriously?

Fear early on captured our senses and we can’t seem to let go even when credible contrary information is presented. And our Governments with their public health officers are ruling the roost with parliamentary debate and the necessary democratic governance by the elected sadly absent.

The academics go on to say:

‘It does not take a degree in medicine or public health to see the possibility that the threat of SARS- CoV-2 was greatly exaggerated and the Western world’s pandemic response badly mismanaged. It is extremely dangerous to suppress diverging analyses and censor opposing views, as has been happening with respect to COVID-19 in mainstream and social media, in the public sphere and at the workplace, and even in our universities and parliaments.’

And they conclude :

‘If we do not maintain careful checks and balances on government and public health officials, we run the risk of taking the wrong path for too long. This is the situation we are facing right now, and it is imperative that we stop and retrace our steps to find a sensible, sustainable way to deal with SARS- CoV-2, as we do with other endemic viruses.

‘This country has to fully re-open and get back to normal life, along with restoring long-established pandemic preparedness.’

Why has such common sense been rejected for so long and even today ?

In our smugness are  we afraid that we might be able to learn something from the Americans? I mean they only are our defenders in time of war, from whom we buy much of our food and whose technology we depend on very day!

  1. Yes you would think the evidence is to clear to deny any longer, you only have to look at what is happening in the states that opened up months ago now and illness went down not up like Fauci and his crew of morons said it would.

  2. Señor Peckford; I read your article, “Its not a stampede but some Canadian Academics are speaking out about the unscientific lockdowns”, and was amused and bemused but also encouraged. It seems somewhat fortuitous that those brave souls in our halls of academia are finally able to muster the intestinal fortitude to finally stand and defend what they have declared for decades are the essential pillars of our democracy and, dare I say, “the very foundations of our Education System”.

Under what rock(s) have these now enlightened academics been hiding for the last 1.5 years. Did their beliefs, values, ethics, morals and principles (BVEMPs) go on an extended vacation or were they so engrossed in protecting their “self-interests and creature comforts” that they became, through their silence and conspicuous absence, part of the Covid-19 propaganda and execution team.

Now that most of the Covid-19 heavy lifting is over, most of the IEDs and landmines have been disarmed and the many coercion and politically correct armaments have been put in storage, that is, until the 2021 Fall influenza season. It appears these academic marmot like creatures are now prepared to “finally” raise their heads out of their academic mole like burrows and state the obvious that any common sense “lay person” has seen for over the last 1.5 years. Certainly, one would be aghast, as I am, that their intellectual insight and capacity has finally bubbled to the top of the Unwoke pyramid of the obvious.

To be very clear, the academic “class” have a much greater responsibility and obligation to defend the principles of freedom, the constitution, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the right to choose to take, or not, a vaccine and to call out the hypocrisy and devastation that the lockdowns and mobility restrictions have caused economically, socially and medically. Why their great time delay for delivery on such obligatory expectations?

The mishandling of Covid-19 has been a boondoggle of epic proportions and the end game is still not clear. Bravo to these academics for coming to the party, very late I might add, but what are they really prepared to sacrifice in order to stop this Covid-19 propaganda and insanity boondoggle?

It has been my observation for greater than a year plus that there has never been a proper societal risk/benefit analysis done re Covid-19 management. Rather, there has been a myriad of knee jerk reactions by those responsible for the management—politicians that is (more aptly described as non-management) of the declared Covid-19 Pandemic.

We are 1.5 plus years into this declared Pandemic and I have yet to see a Comprehensive Pandemic Plan (CPP), at any government level— WHY? Would this not be the very first thing to do, in any rational setting, that is, a CPP formulated and communicated to all citizens!!!! Still to this day, a CPP hasn’t been developed, even after federal and provincial leaders were provided a CPP outline, by this writer, over a year ago. The lack of a CPP signifies tremendous incompetence, gross negligence, and/or an intentional avoidance of such a CPP formulation—WHY?

If there is one thing we must learn from this Covid-19 debacle is that politicians should never be allowed to transfer their responsibility, accountability and authority to unelected medical civil servants to manage a CPP, those folks are there to give advice regarding the medical aspects of a CPP—that is where their role should end.

Never will a challenge be properly managed, solved and implemented by theoreticians, academics, media or a host of do-gooders. If you want something fixed, repaired, made to function go to the farmers, loggers, miners, fisher-people, truckers, tradespeople and other practical minded people. Want something to circle in a vortex of inaction; give it to the academics, politicians, pseudo scientists, “experts” or bodies such as the U.N, E.U., etc.

We have been lied too, repeatedly, about Covid-19 (i.e.):

    1. mask wearing,
    2. asymptomatic transmission,
    3. the effectiveness of ivermectin,
    4. the numbers who have died with Covid-19 versus from Covid-19,
    5. the ineffectiveness of the PCR test,
    6. the numbers of adverse reactions (I suspect in the millions),
    7. the numbers who died from the vaccine injections,
    8. The short and long term risks of the vaccines;
    9. Covid-19 vaccines Not properly trialed nor given sufficient time to be investigated properly,
    10. Manufacturers of the Covid-19 cannot be sued;
    11. Children who have virtually no risk from the virus being encouraged to take the vaccine—WHY???,
    12. Suppression by the MSM and Social Media of all things that questions the vaccine, etc., etc.

We, the human population that is, have just been subjected to a medical experiment of epic proportions and we have learned that hundreds of millions of people will gladly and willingly allow others, under the guise of expertise and we know best, to inject experimental materials into them, their children, parents and grandparents.

If these vaccine injections jump the rails in the next 3, 5, 10, 20 plus years (and my gut tells me they will) you will hear the inevitable outcry, “why was such allowed to occur, I didn’t know I’m just a simple person, I trusted them to know best, they should all be strung up, our governments and medical personnel let us down big time”— all of which is true but, please, to thine own-self be true!!

Seldom will you hear, “it was my choice and I take full responsibility and accountability for my choices”; No, it will be what our Western Civilization is immersed in today, that is, deflect to others, blame others, my life would be so wondrous if others never stole my birthright, culture, language, and way-of-life, etc.

In conclusion, it’s great to see “a very, very, very limited number of academics come forward and voice their opinions and observations”. However, like the old saying,”the proof is in the pudding”. I’ll await and determine their academic and personal credibility, thus their further actions and sacrifices, not on “what they say but what they do,” to help fix this mess we are all facing!!!

My thoughts, hope all is well.
