Nine Island’s communities receive grants to streamline housing approvals

The province will be doling out over $1.2 million in grants to nine Island communities to help develop processes to streamline housing approvals.

Across the province, 38 communities will receive grants, nine of which are on Vancouver Island.

The grants are being given out through the Local Government Development Approvals Program, which was created to help local governments implement practices and develop policies to speed up the delivery of homes.

“We’re leaving no stone unturned in our work to deliver more homes for people, faster,” said Ravi Kahlon, minister of housing. “The Local Government Development Approvals Program was created so that local governments can improve the internal processes and development approvals, so that we can speed up the delivery of homes for people living and working in B.C.”

On Vancouver Island, there are seven municipalities and two regional districts receiving the grants to streamline housing approvals. Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland, Nanaimo, North Cowichan, Oak Bay, Port Alberni and the Alberni-Clayoquot and Mount Waddington regional districts will receive between $100,000 and $150,000 each.

    • Turdeau is BRIBING all of these communities to do his bidding on behalf of the WEF NGO. It is that simple. I am surprised they haven’t roped the sheep into building their own concentration camps. Oh wait a minute, tiny home communities subsidized by government welfare?? Is this not the objective of the WEF? Own nothing and be happy. These people are bat shit crazy and we are letting them away with it.
