I have three expressions that I copied; None are so blind as those who refuse to see – attributed to John Heywood 1546 Jeremiah 5:21 (‘Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not’) People tend to refuse to consider evidence, especially if what they might discover contradicts what they believe. – can’t remember the source.
