There’s lots of Stuff For Comment Today —

One:

Did you see any evidence by the US  Intelligence Agencies re: Russia . I can’t find any. Reuters quoted the Intellgence Agencies as saying

‘We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the U.S. presidential election,” the report said. “We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump. We have high confidence in these judgments.” 

There was no evidence given in this Reuters report. They say:

The report neither assessed “the impact Russian activities had on the outcome of the 2016 election” nor did it provide details on the evidence underpinning its conclusions, a fact likely to keep alive the controversy over what Moscow may have done.

Is there too close a relationship between the Intelligece Agencies and the outgoing Obama crowd?  Lacking real evidence such views are not out of the question, I submit. What makes it all the worse is that Obama’s State Department financed parties in Israel that worked to oust the sitting Prime Minister and that was alright. There is a real double standard there . And the new report says hacking has been going on for years , even in Obama’s first election . And 20 million Americans were hacked and nothing done. The Home Security was hacked, the department of Defence and five other departments and agencies and nothing was done. Some of this was public knowledge but no investigation and report like is happening now. Something must done alright but it perplexing and troubling that it is ‘ the big issue’ right now.

Two:

CBC had some positive story on the latest job numbers . I remember when Harper was around . No matter how positive a story CBC was sure to find a negative . If they actually read the Statistics Canada report they would see a real negative : 71,000 new jobs this past year were in Government or Government agencies .  Quoting StatsCan :

‘On a year-over-year basis, the number of public sector employees increased by 2.0% (+71,000), driven by gains in public administration; information, culture and recreation; and health care and social assistance. ‘

Three:

Thank God for the US Congress. The House of Representatives has already voted that they oppose the Obama decision at the UN to unfairly target Israel in the ongoing Israel/Palestinian issue. The vote was 342 to 80 with 30 Democrats supporting the House resolution. The Senate has indicated it will soon pass a similar one. So the peoples’ house of the US –The Congress makes a mockery of Obama’s actions and shows just how out of step with the people he really is. The actual heading of the motion in the House of Representatives reads:

PROVIDING FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE BILL (H.R. 26) TO AMEND CHAP- TER 8 OF TITLE 5, UNITED STATES CODE, TO PROVIDE THAT MAJOR RULES OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH SHALL HAVE NO FORCE OR EFFECT UNLESS A JOINT RESOLUTION OF APPROVAL IS ENACTED INTO LAW, AND PROVIDING FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE RESOLUTION (H. RES. 11) OBJECTING TO UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 2334 AS AN OBSTACLE TO ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN PEACE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Four:

To those who still dream that Hillary really won , may I point out  the rules were clear and all knew it was The Electoral College that would be the final decision. So you campaign in that knowledge. Hillary did not. Trump did.

 More than 1,030 seats. That’s the number of spots in state legislatures, governor’s mansions and Congress lost by Democrats during Obama’s presidency. It’s a statistic that reveals an unexpected twist of the Obama years.
